Common Questions and Answers Pertaining To Boiler Rentals
WHO PROVIDES THE HOOK UP?
In most cases, the customer will elect to have National Power Equipment Co., Inc. to install the rental unit if and when practically possible. The installation charge is based on a site inspection and application of the equipment to be supplied. The customer will receive a spec sheet detailing all of the connection requirements and layout of the rental unit. The customer may also elect to perform the installation at its sole cost and expense, provided that the installation is performed in accordance with all local, state, and federal guidelines as they may apply.
WHO PAYS THE FREIGHT?
The customer is responsible for all freight charges. National Power Equipment Co., Inc. will deliver to customers’ job site and pick-up to return the equipment. Generally, freight charges are $200 / hr. portal to portal
WHO PROVIDES WATER, FUEL AND ELECTRICITY?
The customer is responsible to provide the essential basics of; water fuel, and electricity at its sole cost and expense. In the event that electricity is not available, National Power Equipment Co., Inc. will spec a generator for the rental unit, and if customer so desires, National Power Equipment Co., Inc. can provide a generator based on hours of use and load requirements. The generator is optional and provided at an additional charge.
IS A FUEL TANK PROVIDED WITH THE RENTAL?
Depending on the size of the boiler, each rental unit is furnished with a 1000 gallon double wall or diked fuel tank. The tank is completely installed within the rental unit and is equipped with a Petrometer fuel gauge, an audible alert to signal fuel company when tank is full, a venting system for primary and secondary containment tank, and a standard Scully outdoor fill spout with isolation and check valves.
WHO PROVIDES THE BOILER LIABILITY INSURANCE?
In all cases when the customer has a boiler insurance policy and liability insurance policy, the customer’s insurance company will extend the coverage to the rental equipment, and or provide an umbrella policy to cover the equipment and liability exposure for the duration of the job. The customer would contact its agent and forward a certificate of insurance to National Power Equipment Co., Inc.
WHO PROVIDES START-UP SERVICE?
National Power Equipment Co., Inc. provides the start-up service at an additional fee. The start-up service includes the onsite safety checks, any minor adjustments required for pressure and temperature, including the onsite training and direction to customers’ staff. The fee for startup service is typically $150 / man-hr, portal to portal.
IS FEEDWATER TREATMENT REQUIRED?
Each rental unit is equipped with a boiler water chemical treatment system and water softener as needed. This equipment is used to protect the boiler internals from scale formation, pitting, as well as the customers’ piping from corrosion and PH and alkalinity control. National Power Equipment Co., Inc. will provide and administer proper water treatment at customers’ job site. The fee for water treatment is based on size of rental unit and the quality of water and proper blow-down procedures provided by customer.
